What Is House League

Ajax-Pickering House League:  We are pleased the Ajax Ringette Association has officially joined our House League.   Games will be played Sunday mornings and practices held on Wednesday.  Practices and games will be played out of the Ajax Community Centre and Pickering Recreation Complex.

Our house league offers beginners an opportunity to learn skating and the fundamentals of Ringette. No experience is necessary. House League provides an entry into the game. Children begin playing House League from the age of 4 to 9.  The players ability to skate is not important at this level. By the end of the season, your daughter will be racing for the ring with her teammates. House League is considered non-competitive.

We believe skills and skating development enhances your daughter's appreciation and enjoyment of ringette.  Each month, included in House League, we offer skating and skill development sessions targeted to your daughter's calibre of play. With our partners in Ajax Ringette we also offer a free goaltender clinic for house league and rep goalies.  Furthermore we offer other clinics to develop players for our rep programs.

Playoffs are held in March with a championship day scheduled for the end of the season. On championship day regardless of the score, every player is a champion.  Players also receive an individual and team picture.

New players to ringette pay only $199
and returning players $350.  House League begins after Thanksgiving and completes near the end of March. We also provide an equipment swap at the beginning of every season.

Bunny and Novice Travelling Teams:  House League players also have the opportunity to play on the travelling recreational bunny and novice teams. These teams give the girls extra ice time to develop and improve their skating and ringette skills. Girls (4-7 years of age) may participate on the Bunny Team and girls (8 and 9) may participate on the Novice Team for an additional $150. Look for our advertisements in the City of Pickering Fall editions, 2008 Program booklet. Come join Pickering Ringette House League and discover the excitment of ringette.
