Download 6/49 Fundraising Form Here - FOR EXCEL Download 6/49 Fundraising Form Here - FOR PRINT Dear Parents, We begin this season knowing our registration and fundraising revenues will not cover our expenses, particularly ice rental and the stringent payment terms required by our respective Cities. Ringette is unique to hockey, as its teams do not pay separately for ice rental (games and practices) and officiating. Unfortunately past fundraisers have not met their intended financial objectives. As a result our collective executives believe that for ringette to thrive in Ajax/Pickering we require a strong financial foundation upon to build our sport, thus the idea for expanding the 6/49 Fundraising initiative. This fundraiser is unique in that most people have been exposed to the 6/49 draw and have purchased tickets. The concept is simple, every player will fundraise a minimum of $50 by requesting family, friends and work colleagues to enter 6 numbers, between 1 and 49 onto a row of your 6/49 Fundraiser Form. Each row will cost $5 with a special rate of $10 for 3 rows. All players are required to provide a cheque for $50 with their registration. Any players unable/unwilling to sell their minimum quota of $50 each will forfit their $50 deposit provided in advance. The drawing of the fundraiser will begin in late November /early December 2008 (exact dates will be provided at the beginning of the 2008 season. At that point any numbers matching the official 6/49 results will be crossed off. The first participant to have all 6 of their numbers crossed off in a row wins the $1st prize, game continues for the 2nd prize from there. The prize will be split if more than one participant wins. The winner(s) will be announced on our websites. Completed forms and money raised above the $50 deposit, must be provided prior to the announced draw date and will go towards the player's team fundraising. Parents are permitted to use the $50 for the purchase of their own numbers. Good luck and best wishes for every success with this fundraiser. Forms and cheques can be left in either Ringette office in a sealed envelope (PRC Delaney Rink or ACC viewer area of Pad #2) to the attention of Rachel Seeley, 649 Coordinator. Questions can be directed to Rachel Seeley at rpseeley@hotmail.com.
Yours Sincerely, Ajax Pickering Ringette Executive Summary of Changes for 2008 - 2009 Season
Why do we do an Association wide fundraiser? The bottom line is that registration fees alone do not cover the all the costs of "icing" an individual team. The Association is responsible for a wide number of expenses. The largest single expenditure is the cost of ice. Others important costs include: officials, time keepers, shot clock operators, insurance, certification/training for coaches, subsidized registrations for first year players, equipment, etc. Can a team benefit directly from this Fundraiser? The first $50 in sales has been collected by the league at time of registration. These cheques will be cashed by the treasurer during the first week of November. Therefore, the first $50 you collect is your compensation for this advance payment. Any funds raised over and above $50 will be donated to your team budget. For example: Sarah Speedster plays for the Tween C team. She sells 33 lines to 11 of her supportive relatives over Thanksgiving. Total money raised is $110. Her parents keep $50 and submit the remaining $60 to the Tween C manager for their team budget. Sarah e-mails the excel spreadsheet to both her team manager and the league contact to enter the numbers into the draw and to confirm the correct amount was collected. How do I promote this Fundraiser?
How does the fundraiser work?
Format for submission: Excel spreadsheet If you don't have access to excel, paper copies can be submitted to your team manager. Important Dates: November 1st
